ROAD TRIP CANADA
Prelude to Winter

Near Moraine Lake, Banff NP, Alberta, Canada
This is my favourite photo from my Canadian trip. I realized that it was the wrong time of year to catch the classic Moraine Lake shot the way I had hoped in all its alpen glowing glory. Fortunately things have a way of working out. When I drove to the lake the day before this photo was taken the fall colours were at their peak. Overnight the landscape had been transformed into a winter wonderland. Watching the low-lying fog flow in the valleys, the clouds in perfect position turning pink and the first rays hitting that peak...a morning I shall never forget. I'm just glad I didn't turn up at the lake hoping for that postcard shot.
