About Us

Magic Hour Travelscapes comprises the photographic vision of Kah Kit Yoong and Winnie Ho. We are self-taught, Melbourme-based, photographers with extensive travel and landscape portfolios, having followed great light to new adventures throughout the world. The company was born when we discovered it was more thrilling to see our photographs up on the wall than our medical degrees.

Kah Kit Yoong
Kah Kit Yoong is a nature and travel photographer/writer who is always in search of the perfect light to suit his subjects. He took his first snap with an SLR almost three years ago then developed his skills photographing the wild landscapes of Tasmania. Wide-angles are often used in his work to create a dramatic perspective to give the viewer a special sense of immediacy. His work is inspired by Galen Rowell, Peter Dombrovskis, Joe Cornish, Charlie Waite and Marc Adamus. Kah Kit has contributed pictures and articles to various Canon publications, and online photography magazines. His recent projects/awards include: 1st prize "Your Best Shot" published in Dec 2007 issue Popular Photography, "Frosted Garden" was highly commended in the botanical section of the ANZANG 2007 competition and published in the 4th collection yearbook, "After the Storm" won 1st prize Nature Photographers Online Magazine annual editors pick awards 2007 in Weekly Challenge gallery, awarded Travel Photographers Network (TPN) Photographer of the Year Award 2007.

Winnie Ho
From the earliest age, photography has gone hand-in-hand with her love of exploring the world. She changed from 35mm film to digital SLR photography in 2005. Her creative style is always evolving, but often involves subject isolation and intimate environmental scenes that evoke the fragile beauty of the wider landscape.
